Roughing It

We have been talking with the boys about going camping this summer. They got really excited until they found out that camping meant sleeping outside in the mountains. Jackson said that he would never sleep in the mountains because of the bears and mountain lions.

We decided to warm them up to the idea slowly, and asked them if they wanted to go camping in our backyard first. We went to Wal-Mart and bought them new "Cars" sleeping bags. Jackson put up a bit of a protest at first, because we have coyotes, raccoons, and opossums in our neighborhood, but we told him that they would all be afraid of his dad, and would stay away.

Well, we haven't gotten around to digging out our tent and sleeping bags, but the boys couldn't wait. One night they pulled out their sleeping bags and asked to go camping in their room. Why not? In the morning, we found Jackson asleep in his bed and Mikey in the middle of the floor. I think they need a few more practice runs before I join them!
