You Didn't Say Not to Write Anything

Jackson has a newly acquired habit of thinking that if he argues long enough or loud enough, he'll overturn any decision we just made. It's not a theory that has much basis in reality, but he's devoted to it anyway.

This weekend we were house-bound for a while, so the kids got a little more TV than they usually would. I was sick of it, so I told him to shut it off. He started yelling, "No! No turning off the TV!" I finally told him, "I don't want to hear you talking about it anymore, Jackson. Another word and it's a time out."

Jackson sat down in his chair in a huff, and started scrawling furiously -- in both senses of the word -- on his MagnaDoodle. And this is what he wrote:

We're beginning to see the drawbacks of a kid who can write -- but how cool is that?
